January 16th;The White Star Line

The White Star line was the owner of Titanic and it's sister ships Olympic and Britannic.

The White Star Line was owned by Bruce Ismay and existed from 1845 to 1935. The White Star Line began to die after the loss of the Titanic. Although what really damaged the company was during World War I the loss of the Britannic, Which was even bigger then Titanic. The Britannic was sunk by either a German U-Boat or a German mine and went down just off the Irish coast.

All of this and the creation of commercial jets eventually killed the White Star Line. It was forced to merge with Cunard Line. The Cunard line wanted to remove any mention of the other company after the merge and so, it scrapped RMS Olympic, the White Star Line flag ship (also Titanic's sister ship.)

Although Surprisingly there is still one white star ship left, it is called the Nomadic, I will talk about it more in another entry later. That is all for today, thanks for reading.
